In case you didn't notice, Canada Post is still on strike. The first while it didn't affect me or my store very much. Now it is. You'll notice I had to raise the shipping prices. Why? Because the other couriers doubled or tripled their prices on smaller packages. I purchase a lot of labels for small packages through 3rd party companies. There's a few reasons, but in general, it's the cheapest way to get lots of options and have the packages picked up, vs me having to drive them somewhere. Since the couriers are swamped trying to pick up the slack left by Canada Post, they have halted pickups for most 3rd party providers. 🤦♀️
I am still shipping orders, but you will notice the prices went up. I'm sorry, but there's not a lot I can do about it. If you can Mennonite Express your order, please do so! Friends of friends is a great way to get orders for less. Or combine shipping with others! Bigger packages are still cheapest to ship.
I do have a small bit of good news for people ordering online. You can get 20% off, December 10-12. It's automatically taken off your order at checkout.
Also, if anyone needs a job, I'm hiring a delivery driver. The service is called "MennoExpress". You must be able to travel extensively across North America and also have good knowledge of all the Mennonite family trees so MennoExpress can function efficiently. Lodging for your journeys can be found on Mennonite Your Way. Payment comes in the form of fresh baked goods and casseroles. Interested applicants, please contact me. 😋
Ps. I'm pretty sure a Mennonite run delivery service would be efficient. Most of us born and raised Mennonites have more connections than we realize and if we passed packages like we do gossip, Fedex would be obsolete.
